Artist Run Initiative
An artist-run initiative is a project run by artists to present
their and others artworks. Some important artist-run
initiatives is The Wrong Gallery in New York, using a disused
doorway to display work and City Racing, an old betting shop, in
London in the 1990s.

Commercial Contemporary Art
Gallery Contemporary art is often shown in a commercial
contemporary art gallery. Especially in British english "Art
Gallery" is commonly used to mean art museum. "Commercial
galleries" are privately owned businesses that sell artworks.
There are also galleries that are run by art collectives,
"artist run initiatives", and organizations or national
governments. Commercial galleries often represent artists
exclusively and giving them the opportunity to have solo shows
regularly. Galleries often show their best artists at art
fairs. The most important Art Fairs is Frieze Art Fair, London,
Armory Show, New York, and Art Basel.
